Birthday/Christmas/Whatever List

This is at this year as LJ cannot go any earlier than 1970.

Books:

Caveman Chemistry: 28 Projects, from the Creation of Fire to the Production of Plastics - Kevin M. Dunn

Polio: An American Story - David M. Oshinsky

Tobacco: A Cultural History of How an Exotic Plant Seduced Civilization - Iain Gately

(??) The Cigarette Century: The Rise, Fall, and Deadly Persistence of the Product That Defined America - Allan M. Brandt

The Big One - Stuart Slade (WWII alternative history)

Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition, and Craft of Live-Culture Foods - Sandor Ellix Katz

Kitchen:

(Very) small hot-air popcorn popper.

(Very) small foodprocesser - or manual chopper(?)

Spice rack - Can use two one. Must be no more than 10-1/2 inches wide. Should hold containers with 1-13/16 in. base, at least. Able to hold 2-13/16 in. base items bonus but it seems unlikely especially with the narrow width requirement.

Circular cake pans - 2 (non-stick ideally)
Discovered "disposable" pans flex nicely for easy removal.

9x13 cake pan (glass/pyrex preferred, nonstick will do)

Standard sized cupcake/muffin pan.

Pie pan

Mini-cupcake/muffin pan

8x8 cake pan (Pyrex preferred)

Spritz cookie spritzer

Double boiler (need not be new - thrift store find will do)

Set of broiler-safe desert cups / ramekins

DVD:
Muppet Show, Season 3

H.R. Pufnstuf - TV series
Pufnstuf - Movie (1970)

Dr. Suess cartoons (NOT the recent live-action movies.)

Electronics/Gadgets

Portable (personal) mp3 player.

Misc.:

Alcohol hydrometer (might be "beer or wine hydrometer"). No need to measure above 25% -- even 20% is a stretch, but should read above 15%.

CO detector/monitor. (Have one in basement, one upstairs, but not one on main floor yet.)

UPS - Doesn't have to be much, just enough to allow a power glitch to pass or a proper shutdown.

Gift Certificates

Pretty much any place will do, but the most useful in Fairmont would be Shopko and Wal-mart. For books: Barnes & Noble. There is also a Target in Mankato.
